Display equipment maker Charm Engineering has shipped its 2000th flat-panel display (FPD) repair equipment, the company said on Friday.
The milestone comes after it localized the technology 18 years ago.
A company spokesperson said it expects order for the equipment to double this year.
Charm first produced its own FPD repair equipment in 2002. It sells around a hundred unit of them per year.
Around that time, South Korean companies relied a repair equipment made abroad, such as those made by Japan’s OLFT and Israel’s Orbotech.
Charm has around 70% market share in the global display repair market. It was developing repair equipment for miniLED and microLED displays.
