More details of Galaxy Z Fold 2 to be revealed on September 1
Samsung Electronics has unveiled its third foldable phone the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Note20 series and its first virtual Unpacked event on Wednesday,
The company is expected to provide further details and sales date for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 on September 1.
Samsung unveiled a slew new devices at the event __ Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Tab S7 series, Galaxy Watch3 and Galaxy Buds Lives wireless earphones.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a 6.2-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display, much larger than its predecessor the Galaxy Fold’s 4.6-inch outer display and 7.3-inch inner display.
Samsung said it has applied a hideaway and sweeper technology on the hinge of its latest foldable phone to make it tighter and dust proof. The hideaway technology was first applied to the Galaxy Z Flip launched earlier hits year to hide the hinge when the phone is completely opened. Sweeper technology was also first applied on the model.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be available in black and bronze. There will be also a Town Brown limited edition. The company will reveal the full specification, launch date and pricing of the new device on September 1. Samsung said it was working to optimize the device with its partners. Last year, the Galaxy Fold’s launch was delayed for over four months due to defects on its screen and hinge.
Meanwhile, the latest Galaxy Note comes in two models, the 6.9-inch Galaxy Note20 Ultra and 6.7-inch Galaxy Note20.
Galaxy Note20 Ultra’s stylus has a latency of 9 milliseconds. It has the latest Gorilla Glass Victus. The Ultra has a 108MP wide angle, 12MP telephoto and 12MP ultra wide cameras on its back and 10MP selfie shooter. The display has a 120Hz refresh rate, it comes with 12GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, microSD slot, 4500mAh battery and 25W quick charging. It comes in mystic bronze, mystic black and mystic white colors.
The Note20 has a reinforced polycarbonate finish for its back cover. It sports a 64MP telephoto, 12MP wide angle and 12MP ultra wide camera on its back with a 10MP front facing camera. It has a display refresh rate of 60Ghz, 8GB RAM, 256GB internal storage, 4300mAh battery and 25W quick charging. It comes in mystic bronze, mystic gray, mystic blue, mystic red and mystic pink colors.
Galaxy Note20 Ultra will cost 1.452 million won and Galaxy Note20 1.199 million won in South Korea. They will began pre-orders on Friday and start sales on August 21.
