LG Uplus has sold the first 1,000 units of its augmented reality (AR) glass U+ Real Glass, the carrier said.
The glass was made by Chinese start-up Nreal, which was founded in 2017.
LG Uplus compared the success to those of US company Magic Leap’s though it didn’t mention the company by name.
The carrier said the oversees AR glass company, which was backed by Google, Alibaba and AT&T, sold 6,000 units of its AR glass in six month worldwide. LG Uplus’ sales of 1,000 unit in South Korean alone was a “remarkable achievement,” the telco claimed.
LG Uplus said it plans to add and improve services dedicated to the AR glass going forward.
