An executive at LG Display has received the top science honor given by the South Korean government.
Oh Chang-ho, executive vice president and head of TV business at LG Display, has won the Order of Science and Technology Merit for his contribution to the country’s display industry.
The Order is the top honor given to scientist and engineers in the country.
Oh joined LG Display in 1991 and was heavily involved in the development of liquid crystal display panels and organic light emitting diode (OLED panels.
He was instrumental in the production of OLED TV production in 2013.
OLED is known for its accurate colors and high contrast ratio. It is also thin and can be molded into various form factors.
