KT has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) based energy management service aimed at unmanned stores, the telco said Wednesday.
It will first applied to vending machines in unmanned stores operated by start-up Phase Commu.
Data collected from temperature sensors within the machines will be stored on KT’s cloud server.
KT’s program will then suggest the optimal temperature for the machines so that the food inside them stay fresh.
They will also collect the power consumption rate of lighting and AC in the store and turn them on and off to save utility costs, the telco said.
