LG Display said on Tuesday its organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel for TVs have received Intertek’s Accurate Picture Quality certification.
The UK-based quality assessment company measured the delta zero color fidelity, black luminance and viewing angle colorshift of the OLED panel.
LG scored 0.79~0.94 for color fidelity __ lower core means the color of the TV is closer to the intended color. A score lower than 1 means even professionals can’t discern a difference on the TV and the intended color.
The South Korean display maker said its score was three times more accurate compared to those of Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TVs.
The OLED panel’s score was also level to that of reference monitors used in movie production, LG Display said.
The company also said it scored perfectly in black and the resolution stayed the same for all viewing angles.
