APS Holdings’ paper on fine metal mask (FMM) has been published Journal of Society for Information Display (SID), the company said on Wednesday.
The company said its president Chiwoo Kim’s paper FMM was published on the August issue of the prestigious journal.
Kim introduced material and laser patterning technology solution to produce FMM for organic light emitting diode (OLED) panel with resolution over 800ppi.
APS Holdings says its FMM technology can produce currently commercialized FHD sticks as well as make those in the QHD and UHD resolution. OLED with over 1000ppi resolution can also be produced with its technology, the company claimed.
The South Korean company announced in February that it was investing 20 billion won to make new FMM production lines.
The company was part of a national project to develop etching method for FMM production.
It is competing with Philoptics, which is opting for a electro forming method over lasers.
