KT has developed a new short range 3D LiDAR sensor that takes tenth of the cost to make compared to counterparts, the company claimed.
The sensor has 24 sensing layer by controlling the laser with software, the carrier said.
It also has artificial intelligence (AI) software that will recognize whether a subject is a person or a thing.
The sensor will be optimal for use in smart factories, KT said, as it is cheap and robots and machinery require multiple LiDAR sensor on them to operate properly.
