Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI) and Siheung City will collaborate to build a data center dedicated to managing data from electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, the pair said on Thursday.
The pair will collect data of components and driving while EVs are on the road. They will then use that data to build a big data platform that can be used in EV component production, management and driving.
Data collected of batteries and motors in EV will be used to support manufacturing companies to who are trying to make them and for those already making them to improve the quality and performance of their goods.
The data will also be applied to smart factories.
Siheung City will foster related companies and support them in building data centers and provide operational fees.
KETI has been applying visual intelligence, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and big data technologies to data from ship building, utility and automobile industries. The combination is used to develop technology that can increase productivity and quality of manufacturing companies.
