Synopex’s face mask called Syno.Tex has been registered by US’s FDA, the company said on Thursday.
Syno.Tex membrane filter mask has been categorized as for the general population and medical professionals, the South Korean company said.
The registration opens the door for the masks to be exported to countries that use FDA standards, Synopex said.
The masks are made with e-PTFE __ which are used to make synthetic arteries. The masks has a particle collection efficiency of over 99%, the company said.
Syno.Tex membranes are being used to develop hydrogen fuel-cell scaffold, high performance fluoropolymer filters and air filters, the company said. Its face mask was the first offer on the technology, it added.
