Analog Devices and NEC have designed Rakuten Mobile’s 5G base station massive MIMO antenna radio unit, the pair said.
The radio unit uses Analog Device’s fourth-generation RF transceiver solution.
Rakuten Mobile has an open virtual RAN interface for its 5G network.
NEC said it has already begun the supply of the radio units to the Japanese telco.
