To kill germs in blood
Seoul Viosys will supply its ultraviolet (UV) LED technology to US pharmaceutical firm Cerus, the South Korean company said.
The company’s Violeds will be used in Cerus’ Intercept Blood System.
Cerus is the only company to receive both Europe’s CE and US’s FDA approval for blood transfusion, Seoul Viosys said.
The Korean firm said Violets will help kill virus and germs in the blood to reduce the risk of infection during transfusion.
