TSE said on Wednesday it has won the patent lawsuit filed against it by another South Korean company.
The Supreme Court invalidate patent related to soft elasticity owned by the unnamed South Korean company. Soft elasticity is a method that makes the area of the rubber socket where the chip package ball meets soft.
The unnamed South Korea company had claimed TSE violated its patents. But the Supreme Court sided with TSE.
A TSE spokesperson said the company was now in a favorable position in the lawsuits filed by its competitor in April, 2016.
The competitor originally filed five suits but has withdrawn one on its own. Three out of the four remaining suits involve the patent that was recently invalidated by the Supreme Court.
However, the Court deemed the competitor’s pillar particle patent to be valid. TSE has sought to invalidate that patent as well.
TSE said the company was already proven not to have violated that suit in a Korea Trade Commission investigation.
TSE also claimed the patent had no commercial value and its competitor was also not using it.
