Semicon Light has bee named in a national project to develop high output, large surface ultraviolet LED.
It is one project among the Ministry of Science and ICT’s 2020 Innovative Challenge Projects. The project include control system for intelligent and autonomous disinfection robots, intelligent and autonomous disinfection robot’s labor architecture and behavior algorithm and high output, large surface UVC LED for disinfection.
Semicon Light said it will develop the epiwafer, chip and package technology for the high output UVC LED, which will be attached to the robots.
It will also develop the module for attachment to the robots, it said.
Semicon Light said the newly developed LED will avoid using mercury, which is a main problem in currently used in disinfection LED lamps.
