Samsung Electronics’ mobile business head has all but confirmed that the company’s Unpacked event for the Galaxy S21 smartphone series will be held in January.
In a blog post, Samsung mobile head TM Roh said “I look forward to sharing more in January” near the end.
The company is expected to unveil is new Galaxy S21 smartphone series on January 14 through an online Unpacked event.
Roh also said in the post that the company plans to apply Galaxy Note features to other devices, without elaborating.
This likely means that the Galaxy S21 and the new foldable smartphone launching in 2021 will have S Pen stylus support.
Roh also talked up the company’s research in on-device artificial intelligence and ultra-wideband (UWB).
The president said UWB technology will be used to open doors using smartphones as well as connect smartphones with cars. UWB will also be used to find keys, wallets or pets, Roh said.
