Cosmo AM&T said on Monday that it will invest 25 billion won into expanding its production capacity for release films used in multi layer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) production.

MLCC is a core component used in various electronic devices such as smartphones and notebooks. It is used to control electric current in circuits.

Demand for MLCC has risen from electronic devices and electric cars. Electric cars uses ten times the number of MLCC and is leading the demand.

Cosmo AM&T said its factory has been running 24 hours a day since September due to the increase output which still couldn’t meet the high demand. It was expanding its capacity because of this, the firm said.
