The Korean Information Display Society (KIDS) on Tuesday said it has named Seoul National University professor Lee Byung-ho as its 15th president.
Lee is a member of four international academic society, including the Society of Information Display.
The professor has was been one of three vice presidents of KIDS after being nominated in the post in June 2018.
This year, Lee Dong-hoo, ex-CEO of Samsung Display, has been the president. KIDS names a person from the corporate world as president every three years. Scholars keeps the post for two years straight.
KIDS was formed in 1999 to increase collaboration between the South Korean display industry and academia. The society has been publishing its English journal, the Journal of Information Display, for the past 20 years.
It also hosts the International Meeting on Information Display every year.
