Iljin Composites has renamed itself Iljin Hysolus, the company said on Tuesday.
Hysolus is a combination of Hy and Solus. Hy stands for high and hydrogen, while solus is short for solution, the company said.
The new name reflects the company’s aim to provide an environmentally friendly solution to energy through hydrogen fuel-cell solutions, Iljin Hysolus said.
The company supplied the fuel tank used by Hyundai Motor’s Tucson hydrogen fuel-cell car in 2014. In 2018, it supplied the fuel tanks for the Nexo model. Beginning in November of last year, Iljin Hysolus began supplying fuel tanks for Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel-cell buses.
Iljin Hysolus is expanding its portfolio in hydrogen fuel cell storage solutions to commercial vehicles, drones, trains and ships. It has also launched a tube trailer to transport hydrogen.
