Samsung on Thursday introduced a new mid-power LED package that the company claims has “unsurpassed” light efficacy and color quality.
LM301B EVO comes in Samsung’s own flip-chip design and has a luminance efficacy of 235 lumens per watt.
The company applied a new reflective material inside the packaging mold and improved the phosphor conversion efficiency of the package to achieve this, it said.
The red spectrum has also been fin-tuned in the LED’s phosphor mix that enables superior color quality, especially red which is more difficult to render, Samsung said.
According to Samsung, use of LM301B EVO will allow customers to create lamps that meet the standards of European Union’s energy label Energy-related Products Directive (ErP) as well as those of non-profit Designs Lights Consortium (DLC).
They will be able to quality for ErP Directive’s Grade A certificate and DLC’s V5.1 Premium requirements, the company claimed.
LM301B EVO is also based on the 3030 platform and can be integrated to existing and new fixtures. They are also offered in color temperatures ranging from 2,700K to 6,500K, Samsung said. The package will come in Q-series EVO for indoors and H inFlux EVO for high-ceiling applications.
