
Intel on Monday unveiled its new Gen 11 Intel Core mobile U-series mobile processors as well its first 5G modem for PC at Computex.
The new processors, i7-1195G7 and i5-1155G7, are for “thin-and-light” notebooks and offers 5GHz speed.
Intel claimed they offer up to 25% higher application performance compared to their counterparts made by AMD’s.
The processors have Wi-Fi 6/6E (Gig+) support and comes with Iris Xe GPUs.
The new processors will be on some 60 models of notebooks launched by Acer, Asus, Lenovo and other OEMs launching by the end of the year.
Up to 250 OEM designs based on Gen 11 Intell Core U-series will be launched, Intel added.
The newly introduced 5G M.2 solution is also five times as fast as its LTE counterpart, the company claimed. It has partnered with Fibocom and Mediatek for the solution.
Acer, Asus and HP will launch new notebooks with both the Gen 11 U- and H-series of processors and the 5G M.2 solution. Intel also said over 30 5G notebooks will be launched in 2022.
