Firm files complaint to police
SK Hynix on Tuesday denied online rumors that alleged the company suffered billions of dollars in losses due to defective DRAMs.
An online post claiming the Korean memory giant suffered 2 trillion won in losses due to 240,000 DRAM wafers turning up defective recently during production spread in various online communities on the same day.
SK Hynix said it has filed a complaint to police at Icheon city to investigate the matter. It is seeking charges of defamation and business obstruction to whoever made the original post.
The company said it saw normal level of defects in its chip production and the post completely exaggerated the loss it suffered from them.
