Display evaluation firm FlexiGO said on Tuesday that it has developed a new evaluation equipment for rollable and slidable panels.
Like its previous evaluation equipment for foldable panel called Foldy, the new kits can evaluate the panel in high and constant temperatures as well in humid settings.
The latest equipment is called Rolly&Slidy.
All three equipment can also check whether there are cracks in the panel when the panels are rolled, slid or folded.
The evaluation doesn’t apply external pressures to the panel __ or “stress free” __ which means it can measure their native durability, FlexiGO said.
The company previously supplied its foldable panel kit to Apple.
It is expecting new orders for its latest equipment worth between 2 billion won to 3 billion won.
FlexiGO said it is aiming to standardize flexible display evaluation in the long-term, which can be shared by the set maker, panel maker and component and material maker.
It will also develop a stretchable and twistable panel evaluation equipment by next year.
FlexiGO is partnered with LG Display and Samsung Display in national projects involving new form factors for display panels.
FlexiGO was founded in 2017 and shipped its folding durability tester to Iljin Display.
It has supplied its kits to Samsung Display, LG Display, Apple and BOE since then.
It is aiming for sales of 10 billion won next year and 100 billion won in 2024. It is aiming for sales of 200 billion won in 2026 and will commence an IPO on that year.
FlexiGO is betting that the foldable display market will grow going forward.
FlexiGO CEO Ki Yong Lee owns a 75% stake in the company, while 25% is owned by Wonik Investment Partners. It is based at Cheonan and has 23 employees.
