Mcnex said on Tuesday that it expects record sales of 190 billion won from its automotive camera business.
It is seeing supply volume increase to Hyundai Motor and Kia.
The company said it received a new order for cameras from Hyundai Motor Group __ which owns both Hyundai and Kia brands __ back in April.
It will also begin supplying camera modules directly to the group as a tier-1 supplier starting in the second half of next year. Mcnex had up to now supplied its modules to Hyundai Motor through Hyundai Mobis.
Mcnex is expected to have signed a contract to supply high value cameras to Hyundai Motor Group's new car models from Ioniq 6, EV7 to Nexo.
These newer car models require Mcnex's hardware and software for advanced driver assistance systems.
Last year, automotive cameras accounted for 11.7% of Mcnex sales, but this has increased to 18.43% during the first half of 2021.
