For semi solid-state batteries
Hana Technology will supply battery production kits to Norway’s Freyr.
The South Korean company will supply assembly and formation kits used in the production of semi solid-state batteries in turn-key.
Semi solid-state batteries are more stable than conventional lithium-ion batteries and cheaper to manufacturer.
It uses semi solid-sate electrolyte that increases power output and energy density as well.
They are also relatively easier to manufacture compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries.
They are considered optimal for energy storage systems.
Freyr is planning to secure a manufacturing capacity of 35GWh.
In 2020, Hana had supplied the same equipment to Thailand’s national petrochemical firm GPSC.
