PC shipment during the third quarter this year increased by 3.9% year-on-year to 86.7 million units, according to analyst firm IDC.
It is the sixth consecutive quarter of increase in shipment and an increase of 3.7% from the second quarter, the firm said.
Lenovo topped the list with 22.8% market share and 19.77 million units in shipment, an increase of 3.1% from a year ago.
Dell, Apple and Asus all saw their shipment increase year-on-year, but HP, the world’s second-largest PC maker, saw shipment drop 5.8% year-on-year to 17.59 million units.
Despite the increase in overall shipment, growth is slowing down due to problems in delivery and distribution, IDC noted.
The easing of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has also decreased consumer PC demand, the firm said.
According to IDC, in the fourth quarter last year, shipment increased 25.8% year-on-year; in the first quarter of 2021 there was a 55.9% year-on-year increase; in the second quarter of 2021 it was 13% year-on-year.
