Samsung is finally unveiling the Galaxy Fold five months after its original launch date in April this year on account of durability issues.
“After mounting various hurdles, we have finally unveiled a brand new mobile category with the Galaxy Fold,” said Koh Dong-jin, head of Samsung Electronics IM division. “Fitted with the record-size Infinity Flex Display, the Galaxy Fold satisfies both mobility and functionality.”
In terms of specs, Galaxy Fold runs on an up-to-date processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB memory card and a 4235mAh dual battery. It’s priced at just over 2.39 million won, and comes in the colors of space silver and cosmos black.
The phone can take photos and videos from various angles thanks to a triple camera. When the phone is unfolded, it becomes a dual camera of 10 million and 8 million pixels. When folded, users can take selfies with the cover camera.
Sales will begin on Sept. 6 via the firm’s in-house shop, its official website and telecom companies – both on and offline. Samsung will offer display repair support and phone cases to celebrate the launch.
