Revenue from semiconductors worldwide grew 18.3% in the second quarter from the same period a year ago, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association.
The revenue figures stood at US$149.9 billion, an increase of 6.5% from the previous quarter.
Revenue in June was especially strong __ in North America there was a 42.8% year-on-year increase, according to the SIA.
China was saw the second strongest growth on the month with a 21.6% increase over the same period.
While SIA didn’t share the specific categories of chips that saw high growth, it is likely AI chips and server memory chips that are the main contributors.
