South Korean battery equipment makers have been invited to Morrow Batteries’ event to celebrate the start of operation of its new battery factory.
Multiple domestic equipment makers took part in the forming of the factory, which started construction in 2022.
South Korean equipment makers also supplied their equipment for factories of Sweden’s Northvolt, France’s ACC and Verkor.
Morrow’s new factory is located at Arendal, Norway, with a capacity of 42GWh per year.
South Korea’s TSI supplied the mixing equipment; PNT supplied the electrode equipment; Philenergy provided the notching equipment used to form tabs on the batteries; the stacking equipment was provided by Youil Energy Tech; assembly equipment used to solder the cap was supplied by MOT; the formation equipment was supplied by Kapjin. Korea Vacuum supplied the dryroom.
Morrow also procures the materials used for battery from Posco Future M. The pair are co-developing new materials as well.
Philenergy has Samsung SDI as its backer. MOT also supplies its kit to Samsung SDI. PNT and Youil Energy Tech has SK On as their main customer.
