With Silicon Valley based tech giant
Sapien Semiconductors said on Monday it has signed a deal with a Silicon Valley-based tech giant to develop LED on silicon (LEDoS) chip for application in augmented reality (AR) glass.
The deal is worth 4.8 billion won and the contract expires in October next year, the company said.
The chip will come with Sapien Semiconductors’ memory inside pixel technology and the first sample will be supplied to the customer early next year.
Meanwhile, the South Korean microdisplay firm also signed a development contract with a separate LEDoS firm in June worth 4.4 billion won.
It also signed a 3.9 billion won contract to develop CMOS backplane with a microdisplay module firm in July.
