LG Electronics performed solidly in the third quarter backed by the strong sales of home appliance in the growth of its business-to-business (B2B) unit.
The South Korean electronics maker said it recorded 22.17 trillion won in revenue and 751.9 trillion won in operating profit.
The company noted that the revenue was its highest ever for the third quarter.
Profitability was affected by the slow demand recovery for consumer electronics as well as conflict in the Middle East and US’s raising of tariffs against China in May but its fundamental competence held steady, LG Electronics noted.
Its home appliance business unit contributed 527.2 billion won in operating profit and its B2B HVAC and appliance subscription businesses helped its revenue growth.
In TVs, price rise of liquid crystal display panels negatively affected cost but the company focused on webOS contents and services for profitability to minimize the affect, LG Electronics said.
