South Korea falls behind China in Q1

Worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings rose 13% in the first quarter from a year prior, industry group SEMI said Tuesday.
Total billing for the quarter was US$15.57 billion, SEMI said.
Taiwan was at the top of the list at US$4.02 billion, a rise of 6% from a year ago. China was second place with US$3.5 billion, a rise of 48%.
South Korea’s rose 16% to US$3.36 billion. North America marked US$1.93 billion, Japan US$1.68 billion and Europe US$640 million. Other regions marked US$440 million.
The data was gathered jointly by SEMI with Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 80 global equipment.
