In 1st official move as CEO

New Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO Chang Duck-hyun visited the company’s facility in Busan, his first official move as CEO of the component arm of Samsung.
The facility and Busan manufacture multi layer ceramic capacitors (MLCC) and flip-chip ball grid arrays (FC-BGA), two key products for the company.
New CEOs of the company conventionally visit its headquarters at Suwon __ where Samsung Electronics is also based __ before visiting production sites in Busan and Sejong.
They later tour facilities overseas such as those in Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and China afterward.
However, Chang will likely not visit Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ overseas facilities due to the pandemic.
There is currently a shortage of MLCC and FC-BGA in the industry, related to the ongoing shortage of semiconductors.
Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ Busan facility mostly produces MLCCs and some FC-BGAs.
People familiar with the matter said Chang is expected to continue the weekly town hall-style meeting with employees via video held every Thursday started by his predecessor Kyung Kye-hyun, who was named the boss of Samsung’s chip business earlier this month.
