Samsung is planning to increase the battery capacity of the Plus model on the Galaxy S23 series launching next year, TheElec has learned.
Galaxy S23 Plus will have its capacity increased by 5% to around 4700mAh, compared to the 4500mAh of its predecessor.
It is unclear whether the standard model and the Ultra model will also get a similar upgrade at this point.
It is very difficult to increase the battery capacity of smartphones due to the limited space to put them in.
Samsung SDI currently stacks the materials inside its pouch battery to increase their capacity.
It previously winded these materials instead and the change was made to push the energy density further.
Samsung also uses batteries from Amperex Technology Limited and LG Energy Solution for its flagship smartphones.
Meanwhile, Galaxy S23 series will use Snapdragon and Exynos processors as well as support 200MP cameras and ultrasound fingerprint sensors.
