Four research teams will also be eligible for grants
Korea Toray Science Foundation will reward two researchers who have contributed to chemistry and material sciences, it announced Monday.
Each researcher will get 100 million won as prize.
It will also offer grants to four science team. Each team will receive up to 50 million won per year for a maximum of 3 years.
South Koreans who are registered to a local university, association or institute can apply. The deadline is June 30.
The award ceremony will take place on October 22.
The foundation was formed in 2018. It has awarded four researchers and 8 teams so far. It has also provided scholarship to 60 university students.
This is its third public competition.
