Seoul Viosys will begin sales of its portable sterilizer, called VSM+, this month, the company said Tuesday.
It will be available online starting in June 8 in South Korea and the US.
VSM+ comes with Viosys’ violeds technology, which uses ultraviolet LED to kill germs.
The company said it was effectively COVID-19, which was proven in two tests, one in April and another in May, with Korea University.
Face masks or conventional air purifiers can be vulnerable to viruses that are smaller than 0.1 micrometers, the company said. Masks also becomes less and less effective against viruses with repeated use.
VSM+ will be optimal to sterilize these masks, the firm added.
Last month, Seoul Viosys said it also planned to launch its portable air purifier called VAC in the US and South Korea. It will launch soon, the company said.
