To secure automobile semiconductor competence
Hyundai Mobis will acquire the semiconductor business of affiliate Hyundai Autron.
The deal was approved by Mobis’ board on Friday and is worth 133.2 billion won.
Hyundai Mobis will aim to grow is competence in designing, developing and evaluating semiconductor for automobiles, it said.
Its main goal will be to produce its own system and power semiconductors.
It will supply these to automobile companies first, Hyundai Mobis said.
Semiconductor’s performance determines controllers in automobile cars, a spokesperson for the company said, and Hyundai Mobis will increase its competence show differentiated technology in the future.
