Hanmi Semiconductor said on Wednesday that it will open a showroom at Suzhou, China to promote its brand of dual-chuck saw called micro SAW.
It will be located at an industrial park in the Chinese city where Chinese outsourced assembly and testing companies JCET, Huatian Technology and Nantong Fujitsu as well as Taiwan’s ASE have facilities.
It will also show off its vision placement equipment there.
Dual-chuck saws are used to cut semiconductor packages. Most of them were manufactured in Japan but Hanmi recently succeeded in commercializing them.
The South Korean equipment maker offers various dual-chuck saws, including micro SAW P2 Series and micro SAW P1 Series. The latter is used to cut high-end boards such as flip-chip ball grid arrays.
The company said it plans to launch more versions of the saws for various package applications.
