It is the company's second accident this month
Fire has broken out in LG Chem’s plant in South Korea, according to local fire authorities Tuesday.
It started at 2:20 pm, Tuesday, at the company’s plant in Seosan, South Choongcheong Province.
The fire was putout by 3:31 pm by 107 firefighters and 19 fire trucks.
One died while two were injured. The precise cause of the fire remains unkown.
In a statement, LG Chem apologized to those injured by the fire and promised a thorough investigation on the matter.
Earlier this month, the company saw its plastic factory in India suffer a gas leak, resulting in 12 dead with over 300 people injured.
